New Mexico Common Core State Standards

New Mexico, 45 other states, and the District of Columbia have adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for public schooling, establishing new guidelines for both teachers and students.

The New Mexico Common Core State Standards are a different approach to learning, teaching and testing that engenders a deeper understanding of critical concepts and the practical application of that knowledge. Developed over many years, tested, and proven to be effective, these updated standards prepare students to be more ready for college and competitive in both national and international job markets.

New Mexico Common Core State Standards (NMCCSS) was phased-in over three years and was in full effect by 2015.
