What is the Indiana ILEARN?
ILEARN measures student achievement and growth according to Indiana Academic Standards. ILEARN is the summative accountability assessment for Indiana students and assesses:
- English/Language Arts (Grades 3-8)
- Mathematics (Grades 3-8)
- Science (Grades 4 and 6)
- Social Studies (Grade 5)
- Biology (High School)
- U.S. Government – Optional (High School)
The Indiana ILEARN is built with input from Indiana educators at each stage of the process
Accessible assessments tailored to students’ and educators’ needs
Designed to measure Indiana Academic standards
Includes both computer-adaptive and fixed-form assessments
Student-Centered and Accessible
• Technology platform is accessible to virtually all students, featuring
• the widest range of accessibility tools and accommodations available in the industry
• item specifications that include accessibility requirements
• rich item types (e.g., drawing a graph, conducting a simulation, or identifying grammatical errors in a sentence and typing in replacement text), and
• a Released Items Repository that allows students to become familiar with assessment systems starting in May 2018.
Indiana-Aligned
• The Items on the new ILEARN tests assess cognitively complex content and are aligned to Indiana’s Academic Standards.
