Webinars to help teachers prepare for the Common Core

MONDAY, MARCH 12, 2012 15:36 PM

For teachers who wish to better prepare themselves for the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), advancing their knowledge of the nationwide initiative is as simple as turning on a computer.

From March 20-21, Eye on Education, a provider of teacher resources, will host Eye On School Success: An Online Conference. During this web-based event, educators with internet access can view Common Core Made Easy, a collection of four hour-long webinars designed to help these individuals acquire more effective ways of implementing the CCSS.

"Our Common Core experts will provide practical, use-the-next-day tips and strategies for increasing rigor, teaching writing with technology, raising the level of class discussions and more," said author Lauren Davis.

Among the experts teachers can expect to learn from are Vicki Davis and Terry Roberts. Davis will present Common Core in the Cloud, which will provide examples of how technology can be used to increase collaboration among students. Meanwhile, Roberts will place an emphasis on how educators can teach their students how to transition from discussion to writing.

Beyond watching these webinars, teachers will also have an opportunity to ask any questions they have at the conclusion of Eye On School Success.
