Information About The North Dakota State Assessment (NDSA) Tests State Testing Information for North Dakota Portions of the following material were taken from the North Dakota Department of Education website. General Description of the Tests North Dakota State Assessment (NDSA) - Criterion referenced; aligned to state content standards
- Grades 3 – 8 and 11 - Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics
- Grades 4, 8 and 11 - Science
- Assesses achievement of the previous year’s standards
ND Alternate Assessment (NDAA) - For students with significant cognitive disabilities, and students with persistent cognitive disabilities
- Grades 3-8 and 11 - Math, and Reading/ Language Arts
- Grades 4, 8, and 11 - Science
- There are two Alternate Assessments available in North Dakota: NDAA 1 and NDAA 2.
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) - The only nationally representative assessment of what America’s students know and can do in core subjects
- Grades 4, 8, and 12
