- Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) - Writing Portfolio - Kentucky Alternate Assessment Program (KAAP) - The ACT, PLAN and nonacademic components Assessment Information Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) - Grades: 3-8, 10-12
- Subjects: Reading, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, On-Demand Writing
- A criterion-referenced test based on Kentucky’s content standards
- Students are assessed in content areas specific to their grade level.
Writing Portfolio - Grades: 4, 7, 12
- Portfolios at the 4th and 7th grades consist of three pieces: reflective, personal expressive or literary, and transactive.
- The 12th grade portfolio consists of four pieces: reflective, personal expressive or literary, transactive, and transactive w/ analytical or technical focus.
Kentucky Alternate Assessment Program (KAAP) - Grades: 3-8, 10, 11
- Subjects: Reading, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Writing
- Developed to provide schools and programs with a valid and reliable means of assessing the instruction provided to students with moderate and significant disabilities
- Based upon three components:
- Alternate Portfolio - a body of work that includes both assessment and instructional samples that are collected throughout the academic school year - Attainment Tasks (AT) - performance events that require students to complete a task, working step by step as directed by the teacher - Transition Attainment Record (TAR) - a checklist which evaluates the student’s readiness in reading, mathematics and science
ACT Assessments - All Kentucky public school students are required to take the Educational Planning and Assessment System (EPAS) tests from ACT.
- A comprehensive system for collecting and reporting information about students planning to enter postsecondary education
- ACT‘s three EPAS programs – Explore, Plan and the Act – are based on a common content continuum in each of the four areas tested (English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science).
